Rafael Nadal had a fairly comfortable straight sets win over Andy Roddick to put defending the champions out of this year’s Davis Cup.
Nadal’s 6-4 6-0 6-4 win gave Spain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the tie, taking them through to the final where they will face either Argentina or Russia.
The world number one was in great form, as usual, on the clay in Madrid and broke Roddick’s serve five times, no mean feat.
