A Senegalese woman gave birth on the Málaga to Madrid AVE high speed train yesterday, the little sprog putting in an appearance as the train past through Ciudad Real.
The woman began to feel the symptoms of childbirth as the train thundered along at 300kph and was moved to the cafeteria. Staff made an appeal over the public address system asking if there was a doctor on board and, as luck would have it, there wasn’t. There was, however, a midwife on the train, far better, and the baby was duly delivered.
The train made an unsceduled stop in Ciudad Real city where medics were on hand to offer assistance. The woman was offered an overnight stay at the health centre but decided to continue her journey to Madrid.
Presumably a ‘first’……cabaret with an AVE dinner.
