One of the legends of Hollywood, Paul Newman has died at his home at the age of 83 years. He had been suffering from cancer.
Paul Newman appeared in around sixty films, including such classics as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and The Colour of Money. He was nominated for Oscars on ten occasions, winning ‘best actor’ in 1987 for The Colour of Money.
In the 1970’s, Newman pursued his other passion in life and became a professional racing driver, finishing second in the Le Mans 24 hour race.
He leaves a wife, five children and two grandsons.
