The heavy rains of Saturday morning left many garages and patios flooded in Málaga province, particularly along the western Costa del Sol.
In Sevilla, forty litres of water per square metre fell in less than an hour. On the A-49 near Camas, the rains caused a lorry to topple from a bridge. Fortunately, the driver escaped unhurt.
In Córdoba, the rains put somewhat of a damper on the Dia de la Policia (Day of the Police) celebrations, interrupting the occasion at the halfway point. Undaunted, those who turned up for, amongst other things, the medal presentation ceremonies, were not going to be put off by the mere fact of being soaking wet.
In Cádiz, the worst hit area was the Campo de Gibraltar, where firefighters were kept busy pumping out mud and water from garages.
