The metro Line 1 in Sevilla is due to become operational on December 20th 2008, although four of the stations will not actually be ready for use.
The stations Puerta de Jerez, Montequinto, Europa and Olivar de Quinto are expected to become fully functional during the first quarter of 2009.
Line 1 will operate from 06:00-23:00 on weekdays, 06:00-00:30 on Saturdays and 07:30-23:30 on Sundays. During peak hours there will be a train every eight minutes and it is also planned to introduce special schedules during Semana Santa and Feria.
Work is also in progress on the metro lines 2, 3 and 4 and tests are expected to be carried out ‘soon’.
