Juan de Dios Martín was about to close up his feed and fertiliser store on the Frigiliana road (behind Ferreteria La Noria) on Tuesday evening when suddenly a masked man entered brandishing a large knife and demanding cash.
Like any sensible person would do, Juan de Dios Martín told the robber where the cash was, about €3,000 in total. The robber apparently thought this wasn’t enough for his efforts. When told there was no more, he bound and gagged Juan de Dios Martín while he searched the place.
Fortunately the thief then made his getaway. The small shop, selling animal feed and fertiliser, is somewhat unusual in this area, which is mainly industrial, in that it closes at 20:00 when everyone else shuts at 19:00.
The thief was thin, about 1.75m tall, wearing a hood, mask and black trainers with a white Nike logo.
