Guardia Civil officers seized 1,800 kilos of hashish on Friday morning after it was brought ashore at El Molino de Papel beach.
Radar detected a ‘suspicious’ boat traveling at high speed towards the coast and five Guardia Civil patrols headed off to investigate. However, all they found was a seven metre rubber dinghy and 61 bales of hashish weighing in at 1,800 kilos. The smugglers, obviously with a good system of look-outs, had made their escape, abandoning their cargo.
