Whoa, this almost qualifies as a ‘run’. The Blue and Whites played host to Getafe and ended up on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline. Getafe opened the scoring after only nine minutes with a goal by Soldano, but Málaga C.F. hit back with goals from Baha and Duda, also in the first half. This win shoots them up to seventh place in La Liga.
Valencia cruised back to the top of the pile with a 4-0 victory over Numancia. David Villa got two and there was one apiece for Mata and Vicente.
Sevilla are up into second spot after a 0-1 win away to Almería, a late goal from Adriano being just enough. Villarreal slip to third with Barcelona in fourth place after their 0-1 win against Athletic.
In Division 2, Salamanca are now three points clear of Zaragoza at the top after coming from behind to beat Tenerife 2-3. Tenerife, who were third, now slip to fifth. Quique Martín scored two of the goals for Salamanca, one from the penalty spot, with Nino and Juanlu scoring for the Canary islanders.
Zaragoza had an easy win against Sevilla Atlético, 4-0 the scoreline with two goals for Oliveira and one each for Gabi and Arizmendi.
In the nether regions, as it were, local lads C.D. Nerja got back to winning ways in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 with a 2-1 victory over Real Jaén B and move up a few places to sixth in the table.
Mancha Real still lead the way, despite losing 1-3 to Torredonjimeno C.F.who move up to second spot. Álcala C.F. scored their second goal of the season but, unfortunately, their opponents Mijas scored 4. That’s played 6, goals for 2, goals against 33 and a grand total of ‘null points’.
