Juana Gálvez, the legal secretary at the Criminal Court in Sevilla sanctioned for failing to imprison the man who allegedly went on to kill Mari Luz Cortés, has said that she has a clear conscience and carried out her duties with the utmost dedication and commitment.
Gálvez has been suspended from office for two years and loses pay for the same period. She stated that a lack of materials and resources, and working with outdated organisations and often obsolete laws made the life of the legal secretary very difficult. She added that, had more resources been available, such an unfortunate and regretable incident could have been avoided.
