An Air Europa flight, flight number AEA196, from Glasgoq to Lanzarote skidded off the runway this morning after landing and ended up just short of the perimeter fencing. No-one was injured in the incident and the passengers are now all carrying on with their holidays.
There were 74 passengers and 6 crew on board the plane. The plane, a Boeing 737, apparently developed problems with the undercarriage as it came in to land and It is thought that a broken axle may have caused the plane to skid off the runway, although this has yet to be confirmed.
