A lovely day, fairly clear skies and quite warm in the sun, good day for a wander….and a good grumble.
Plenty of people in shorts today, although nobody brave enough to go in the sea, and who can blame them? End of August is pushing it a bit!
Lots of people sunning themselves on the café terraces and two groups having a good old game of petanca.

You need to make sure you have the right kit with you, of course.
One of the great things about using any form of Open Source software, apart from it being free, is that there are thousands, if not millions of people in some cases constantly working on improvements, upgrades etc.
One of the big disadvantages of using any form of Open Source software is that there are thousands, if not millions of people in some cases constantly working on improvements, upgrades etc.
Most developers work with Firefox, which is almost certainly the best browser for such work, but there is always the Internet Explorer phenomenon which has to be taken into account. Even a small, seemingly insignificant change in software can have no discernable visual effect on the 943 other browsers lurking out there, but you can almost guarantee it will have a dramatic, if not disastrous effect on IE if you’re not careful. And as 85% of the world uses IE, you certainly do have to be careful.
Sometimes, even when a program, or part of a program, hasn’t been changed, IE suddenly decides to take exception to something and misbehaves abominably.
Hence a sleepless night trying to locate and fix a glitch! Turned out to be two in the end! And most unexpected!! There was no problem in the other 6,475 other browsers, just dear old Internet Explorer. Great to have the free, constantly improving Open Source software, but sometimes you feel like shouting’ Stop moving the cheese, the mice are getting fed up’.
The only positive thing to come out of these sort of experiences is that you do tend to learn something new along the way. However, would much rather learn it without having to suffer a sleepless night!
