The Hotel Puerta del Mar appears to have closed, and not just for vacations. Other recent closures include ‘Timon’ on calle El Barrio and ‘Silverman’ in calle Cristo, with ‘Tropico’ at the beginning of calle Pintada about to go after they sell all their stock and the long-standing ‘Jade’ in calle Pintada up for sale.
And here’s a first! Are we in for another invasion? On the site of the old pizzeria ‘Diablo Rojo’ in avenida Castilla Perez we now have a Russian Mini Market.
Gorgeous day, clear blue skies and a few people on the beaches, although none adventurous enough to venture into the sea.
On the subject of shops, there is ‘Blanc du Nil’ in calle Pintada which has the mannequins outside and everything in the shop, as the name of the place suggests, is pure white. A great idea to have a specialist shop, but quite a few people have remarked that they are a bit afraid of entering the shop, particularly with kids, in case they dirty anything.
