Barcelona have opened up a three point gap at the top of La liga after beating Recreativo 2-0 at the weekend. Messi opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half and Keita adding a second with five minutes left on the clock.
Villarreal drew 2-2 on their visit to see the Blue and Whites at La Rosaleda. Twice the visitors took the lead but were pegged back each time. Rossi scored after just seven minutes only to see Duda equalise from a free kick. Llorente restored Villarreal’s lead at the beginning of the second half and then, with only a minute to go, Helder headed in a Luque corner to snatch a point for Málaga.
Sevilla are now level on points with Valencia and Real Madrid after a 2-0 win over Getafe, Luis Fabiano and Tome de Mul the scorers.
Third placed Valencia lost 2-3 at home to Sporting Gijón on Saturday night, a bit of a surprise. Morán and Barral put the vistors two up before David Villa got one back for Valencia via the penalty spot. Diego Castro got the third for Sporting in the 81st minute and Mata slotted one home for Valencia in the 90th minute.
In Division 2, Salamanca stay on top of the pile, despite only managing a 2-2 draw with Albacete, after their closest rivals, Hércules, lost 1-0 to Girona.
Peregrín gave Salamanca an early lead but then goals from Jaime and Alberto, one either side of half time, turned the match around. It was Miku who found the net later on to salvage a point for the leaders.
C.D. Nerja are back up to fifth place in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 after a 3-0 win against Martos C.D. Leaders Mancha Real were 2-1 winners at home to Real Jaén B and second placed El Palo, still unbeaten so far this season, were victorious on their trip to CD Vilches, 0-1 the scoreline.
At the bottom, Álcala CF are continuing their losing streak but are letting in a lot less goals these days. This time it was a 0-2 loss to Baeza C.F.
