Three people, a Rumanian couple and a local woman resident, have been detained in Dúrcal on suspicion of being involved in the sale or abandonment of a three year old child.
The couple have been remanded in custody, the other woman has been provisionally released pending an investigation by the magistrate’s court in Granada.
The local resident who was detained lives on calle José Saramago in urbanisation La Moranja in Dúrcal. At her home, she had 25 dogs and was forever being denounced because of noise. Later, several people made further complaints about the noise but also mentioned that they had seen a young girl at the house and assured the police that the girl was not the woman’s natural or adopted child, but had been ‘bought’.
The Local Police began an investigation and paid a visit to the woman. Unable to prove that the child was either her own or adopted, she was taken into custody and the child was placed in care.
The parents of the child, a Rumanian couple, were then located a detained and are now in prison pending the investigation as to whether they sold or abandoned the child, both being serious offences.
