A fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the Cerro Gordo Park near Almuñecar causing damage to an area of pine trees.
The fire started at 13:45 and was caused by a broken electricity cable. It took firefighters quite some time to extinguish the flames due to a combination of rugged terrain and winds gusting up to 60 kph. The area continues to be monitored in case the high winds manage to reignite the fire.
