The Guardia Civil in Jaén has closed down three dental clinics and arrested a woman who had been practising dentistry but who was not qualified to do so.
The three clinics, in Ibros Quesada and Huesa, had been operating illegally for several years. They were all registered as being owned by a limited company whose sole partner was the husband of the detainee. None of the establishments were in possession of an opening licence and to try and avoid detection, no receipts were issued and no formal records were kept.
The detainee had been carrying out all types of dentistry, including root treatments and implants, without the necessary qualifications.
