A celebration party ended in tragedy as three brothers, all Bolivian nationals, died in La Rioja.
The brothers were celebrating the fact that one of them was returning to Bolivia today under a special Red Cross programme. It is thought that after the party, the three fell asleep with an electric stove still burning and were overcome by carbon monoxide fumes from an electrical generator.
The authorities were alerted at 07:30 after one of them failed to answer his telephone. Arrangements are being made to repatriate the bodies.
The three brothers, aged 42 years, 47 years and 56 years, lived in the town of Logroño. One of them was married and had a family.
