Real Madrid were beaten 3-1 by Getafe on Saturday evening. Albín headed Getafe in front after only three minutes and then scored his second of the night just after the break. Saviola pulled one back for Real, but Uche put the result beyond doubt in the 80th minute.
Meanwhile, Barcelona extended their lead at the top of the table to six points after registering their tenth consecutive away win. The victims this time were Sevilla.
Eto’o opened the scoring for Barcelona in the twentieth minute. Messi made it 2-0 with just twelve minutes of the match remaining and then, after Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano was given his marching orders for an elbowing incident, he scored his second of the night to make the final scoreline 0-3.
