A couple of people helping motorists to park their cars in the centre of Málaga in exchange for a donation of €1 have been arrested after they decided they wanted more and robbed an elderly driver.
One of the ‘attendants’, a 39 year old Moroccan, helped an elderly motorist to park and then gave his client a shove, sending him tumbling to the ground. He then grabbed the man’s wallet and passed it to his accomplice, a Spanish woman, before the pair of them ran off in different directions.
However, it was not their lucky day. Police had become suspicious that the couple had been engaging in a number of small thefts from their clients and were watching. After a short chase, both were apprehended. The elderly victim was reacquainted with his wallet, containing credit cards and €1,200 in cash, and the couple were taken to the police station.
