Businesses in Andalucía are anticipating around a 10% decline in sales during the Christmas period due to the current economic situation and the ‘credit crunch’.
Traders are trying to stimulate sales as well as asking permission to bring forward the date when ‘sales’ are allowed to begin, a measure designed to help counter the anticipated decline. In addition, businesses are asking the Junta de Andalucía to establish some sort of formal agreement with financial institutions relating to loans or credits at preferential rates for Andalucían companies.
A decline in sales means the businesses have less liquidity and are unable to adequately cover current assets and have cash flow problems. In this respect, they are asking the Junta to arrange the granting of credit in the range €12,000 to €30,000 per business to help them through this difficult period.
