Real Madrid have been replaced by Sevilla in the Champions League spots after a 3-4 result at the Bernebeu stadium on Sunday.
Sevilla went ahead after only three minutes, courtesy of Adriano, but the scores were level again a few minutes later when Raúl slotted the ball home. Romaric and Kanouté then gave Sevilla a two goal cushion going into the half time break.
After the break, Higuaín and Gago scored to make it all square once again. Robben was then ordered back to the dressing room for arguing too much with the referee and Sevilla took advantage of their extra man by scoring a late winner.
The Blue and Whites slumped to a 0-2 defeat on their visit to Deportivo. Lafita and Bravo (penalty) were the scorers for Deportivo and their victory takes them up to seventh place in La Liga and only two points behind Real Madrid.
In the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3, local lads C.D. Nerja drew 0-0 with Alhaurín de la Torre and remain in fifth spot. Leaders Mancha Real traveled to Torremolinos and were comfortable 0-3 winners while second placed El Palo went one better with a 0-4 victory over Barrio NS Remedios.
Álcala CF were back in action this week, losing 0-3 at home to Benamiel. In 13 matches so far this season, Álcala have scored 2 goals and conceded 57, so it’s not inconceivable they could achieve a negative goal difference in excess of a ton by the end.
