Divers from the Grupo Especial de Actividades Subacuáticas (GEAS) of the Guardia Civil have recovered the lifeless body of a man from a water deposit in Mecina Bombarón, Granada province.
It is thought that the man was working on some piping above the artificial deposit when he accidentally fell in and, unable to get out, subsequently drowned. The deposit measures 50 metres in length, 25 metres in width and is 8 metres deep.
The body was discovered by local residents at around 19:30 yesterday. The Emergency Services arrived on the scene but, although able to confirm that the man was dead, were unable to retrieve the body and the GEAS were called in.
