The latest investigation into child pornography has resulted in 34 people being arrested by National Police officers with a further 23 people being implicated in the case.
The police carried out searches of 41 houses in 20 provinces and seized more than four million images involving child pornography. The investigation focused on the purchase and distribution of pornographic material involving minors and several people were traced through credit card payments they made for such material.
The raids took place in Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia, Castellón, Murcia, Zaragoza, Asturias, Coruña, Bilbao, San Sebastián, Melilla, Sevilla, Granada, Cádiz, Málaga, Jaén, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Ciudad Real and Ibiza and involved cooperation between the various police forces in Spain with those in Germany and the UK.
So far this year, 408 people have been arrested in Spain in connection with child pornography.
