Guardia Civil officers in Fuengirola have detained Paolo P., a hired killer belonging to the Naples ‘Camorra’ and who had been on the run for the past 17 years.
Paolo P. is wanted in his native Italy in connection with a number of murders.
The authorities had become aware that Paolo P. was using public call centres to communicate with people in his homeland and, in cooperation with a unit of Italian Carabinieri who had arrived in Málaga, surveillance was set up at several booths in the area.
The killer was duly apprehended as he arrived at one of the call centres.
