A South American woman died yesterday on the island of Gran Canaria after being brutally assaulted in a hotel room where she was staying with her partner.
The couple were involved in a discussion in the early hours of yesterday morning, during which the woman was brutally assaulted, allegedly by her partner.
The Emergency Services were alerted and they transferred the injured woman to the Hospital Doctor Negrín. However, she died a short while later.
The partner of the woman has been detained and is due to appear in court shortly.
The incident apparently went unnoticed to most of the other guests at the Hotel Las Palmas, although several did recall hearing screams and the sound of breaking glass between 06:00 and 07:00!
