The Guardia Civil in Almuñecar has arrested six people in connection with a violent incident in a bar at New Year.
In the early hours of New Year’s Day, a group of youths, aged between 20 years and 28 years, burst into a bar and, for no apparent reason, began beating up two people.
One of the victims was so badly beaten that he lost consciousness, as well as suffering multiple bruising all over his body. The second victim, the owner of the bar, suffered injuries to the face and arms.
The attackers also smashed furniture in the bar, causing damage to the value of around €1,100, before fleeing the scene to avoid capture by a Guardia Civil patrol arriving at the scene.
The Guardia Civil took witness statements and began the job of tracing the group of attackers, finally making the arrests yesterday.
The detainees, all martial arts enthusiasts who enjoy demonstrating their prowess, come from a very marginal and violent background and all have prior arrests for violence.
