Sevilla came from a goal down to beat Deportivo 1-3 and move back up to second place in La Liga. And they managed to win despite being reduced to ten men after Maresca was given his marching orders for being a naughty boy.
Bodpio gave Deportivo the lead at half time, but after the break, Luis Fabiano, Renato and Capel found the net for Sevilla and it all changed.
Valencia and Villarreal gave the crowd something to cheer about in their local derby, scoring six goals between them.
Baraja and David Villa put Valencia two up within the first ten minutes and it remained that way until the last seconds of the first half when Fuentes got one back for the visitors.
Llorente equalise shortly after the restart, only to see Valencia go back into the lead two minutes later with a goal from Edu. In the 84th minute, a hotly disputed penalty was converted by Rossi and it was all square again. And that’s how it remained, the final score being 3-3.
Zaragoza are now top of Division Two after beating Salamanca 1-0, the only goal of the match being scored by substitute Braulio.
