Police in Estepona have seized 81 artworks allegedly attributed to Salvador Dali, many thought to have been stolen and which were about to be put up for sale.
The artworks arrived in Spain from France and the organiser of the exhibition, a French citizen, has been arrested on charges of falsifying documents and fraud.
At least 12 of the works, which range from paintings to sculptures, are thought to have been stolen in Spain, Belgium, France and the U.S.A. Checks are being carried out on the remainder of the works to ascertain if any of those have been obtained as the result of theft.
