Real Madrid consolidated second place in La Liga with a 1-0 win over Deportivo, Raul scoring the only goal of the match.

Sevilla slipped up as visitors Racing Santander went away with the three points after a 0-2 victory. César Navas started the ball rolling midway through the first half and then, despite being reduced to ten men after Oscar Serrano was given his marching orders, Zigic scored the second.

Leaders Barcelona continue their onward march, 4-1 winners over Numancia who, incidentally, are the only team to have beaten Barca this season. Messi and Eto’o put Barcelona two-up just after the break. Barkero pulled one back but Henry restore the two goal cushion and Messi, getting his second of the night, made it four and put the result beyond doubt.

Valencia were beaten 3-1 by Mallorca. Jurado opened the scoring for Mallorca early in the first half, Marti added another from the penalty spot and then Jurado got his second of the night. Vicente managed to get a late consolation goal for Valencia.

The Blue and Whites and Atlético Madrid, level on points in La Liga at the start of the match, remained level on points after a 1-1 draw at La Rosaleda. Apoño put Malaga ahead midway through the first half and then Heitinga scored the equaliser just before the break.

In Division Two, Hércules came from two goals down to earn a draw 2-2 with Salamanca. Miku and Cohen put the visitors ahead in the first half, but Taborda and Rubén Navarro found the target and the points ended up being shared.

Xerez are top of the pile, maintaining their position after a 2-0 win over Celta. Momo and Aythami scored the goals in the first half.

Tenerife are now second after a 1-1 draw at Castellón. Ulloa and Tabare twice put the home side ahead, but Angel and Richi were on hand to keep the scores level.

In the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3, C.D. Nerja remain third, despite not playing yesterday. Leaders Mancha Real were 4-0 winners against Benamiel and second placed El Palo drew 1-1 with Alhaurin Torre.
