Local celebrity Antonio Cortés will be airing his vocal chords during the upcoming Carnival in February.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Carnival and one of the changes this time is the use of the new Paseo Nuevo for certain events. Also, an attempt is being made to ‘clean up’ the parades through the streets.
The Council is trying to set up a group to regulate Carnival and other similar events in order to prevent them becoming just one huge ‘botellón’ or street drinking session. This year will see the prohibition in the procession of motorised vehicles and contraptions, supermarket trollies and domestic animals.
The Local Police will be monitoring events with a view to preventing the excessive consumption of alcohol.
