Someone once said:
‘There is no such thing as bad language, only the bad use of language’.
After all, it is we who arrange a group of letters to form a word…..and then declare it to be ‘bad’.
However, we become accustomed to accepting such words as ‘bad’. Fair enough.
There are many occasions when the words we have so carefully formed, and then added to the ‘bad’ list, are appropriate. When a two ton slab of concrete falls on your foot, ‘oh dear’ is unlikely to accurately convey one’s feelings at that moment.
But 240 occurrences of the ‘F’ word in just one episode of a cookery programme would appear to be a little OTT! After all, it hardly leaves any time to interject any other expletives.
