Ronda Council has voted unanimously to remove a mural dedicated to the former dicator General Franco, the offending article being in avenida Ricardo Navarrete.
In keeping with much of the country, most vestiges of the Franco era are being removed and, in many cases, streets are being renamed.
The mural, in the area known as the Union, was placed by the Ministry of Housing during the dictatorship.
Ronda Council is also setting up a commission which will, amongst other duties, assist in the identification of victims of the Franco era through the location of mass graves.
