Two people were detained in Córdoba in the early hours of Saturday morning after their vehicle mounted the pavement and injured a total of ten people.
The driver apparently applied the handbrake as he was driving along and this caused him to lose control of the vehicle which then mounted the pavement and ploughed into a group of people returning from a local club.
Both the driver and the passenger of the car tested positive for alcohol. Fortunately, none of the pedestrians suffered any serious injuries.
