Excellent to see governments introducing cost saving measures during these current economic conditions.
Whitehall have just spent nearly 900 million pounds to reduce the number of staff by 15,000 people. Most redundancies are through early retirement, with the average pay-off being in the region of 60,000 pounds, although some have received as much as 100,000 pounds.
So, what to do after spending 900 million to reduce staff by 15,000? Hire 15,000 new staff, of course. Brilliant stuff.
