The new Justice Minister is Francisco Caamaño Domínguez, and he will take up his post as from 13:00 on Wednesday February 25th.
Francisco Caamaño Domínguez is currently the Secretary of State for Relations, a post he has held since 2004.
Born on January 8th 1963 in the town of Cée, Coruña, he graduated in law at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Much of his career has been related to constitutional law and he became a professor on that subject at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
In 1993 he was appointed as counsel to the Constitutional Court and in 2002 he became a professor at the University of Valencia. He was also Director of the Fundación Democracia y Gobierno Local and co-Director of the Local Law Journal.
Francisco Caamaño Domínguez succeeds Mariano Fernández Bermejo who was impelled to resign following a scandal relating to hunting without a licence.
