Carrefour is reducing the price of around 10,000 articles in each of its stores by up to 25%, the biggest such undertaking in Spain to date.
The reductions relate to everyday products and are being tailored to suit the different demands in different areas. Carrefour believe the scheme will save the average household around €500 per year.
The initiative is part of a strategy encompassing the 12,000 Carrefour outlets to boost sales, reduce costs and establish itself as the market leader when it comes to offering the best price on the widest choice of articles. The company has also introduced the ‘Red Telephone’ whereby if consumers find the same product on sale elsewhere at a lower price, Carrefour will reduce the price in their stores within 24 hours.
