A boat carrying 55 illegal immigrants was intercepted at around 10:30 on Sunday morning off the coast of Granada province.
The boat was intercepted by the Maritime Rescue Service and the passengers, all adult males, were taken to the port of Motril where they were met by officials from the Health Services, Red Cross, Guardia Civil, National Police, Local Police and, for some reason, representatives from the Department of Equality. Must have been almost as many in the welcoming committee as were on board the boat!
