Two bodies were discovered early on Sunday morning in a park in avenida de Madrid in the San Agustín de Guadalix district of Madrid.
The two men, a 24 year old North African and a 32 year old Colombian, were found near to the river. The North African had a stab wound to the neck but there appeared to be no visible signs of violence on the body of the Colombian. Both men, neither of whom were residents of Madrid, had prior criminal records.
An autopsy is being carried out to determine the exact causes of the deaths and the Homicide Division of the Guardia Civil in Madrid has begun an investigation.
