Searches of the Rio Guadalquivir river in Sevilla to locate the body of missing teenager Marta del Castillo will cease at the end of Monday.
Police have been dragging the river for a month now but there has been no sign of the missing girl, nor of the alleged murder weapon, an ashtray.
Seprona will keep monitoring the area should anything happen to turn up, but a halt has been called to organised, official searches.
In the meantime, 250,000 signatures have so far been collected for a petition calling for a ‘life’ sentence for the alleged murderer.
