The Ministry for Tourism, Trade and Sport has initiated the tendering process for the construction of a new swimming complex in Torre del Mar. Applicants have until April 13th to put in their bids.
The complex will have two pools, one of 25m by 16.6m and another of 16.6m by 8 metres, seating for 250 spectators and, of course, all the normal facilities such as changing rooms and a sauna.
The larger pool will be primarily for teaching, swimming competitions, waterpolo and synchronised swimming. The smaller pool will be more for aquagym, therapetic swimming, teaching of beginners and recreation for the elderly.
The initial investment will be €2.75 million, financed equally by the Junta de Andalucía and the local Municipal Council, and construction work is expected to start later this year.
