An attempted robbery at a bar in Córdoba has left one person dead and another injured after a number of shots were fired.
Two men entered the Tres Culturas bar in calle Ciudad de Mengíbar, one brandishing a pistol, the other holding a machete. Firing a number of shots into the air, the two men shouted ‘robbery’.
Customers in the bar attempted to subdue the two men and in the ensuing struggle, one was wounded in the chest and another suffered a wound to his arm. The man with the chest wound died shortly afterwards.
The two would-be robbers abandoned their efforts and fled, empty handed, on a motorcycle parked outside the bar. Police cordoned off the area but there have been no arrests so far.
The area in which the incident occurred is considered a quiet area.
