Two days of official mourning have been declared in the small town of Friol, Galicia, after four people were killed on Sunday morning when the car in which they were traveling left the road and hit a tree.
The accident happened at 08:10 on the DP-4604 between Melide and Friol. There were five people in the car, a BMW, when it failed to negotiate a corner, left the road and hit a tree. The driver of the vehicle survived the crash.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and there is speculation that excessive speed may have been a factor.
The youths who died were all aged between 25 years and 30 years and were returning from a night out in Melide.
