The self-confessed killer of Marta del Castillo, Miguel Carcaño, now has his third defence lawyer in less than two months.
His new counsel is Paloma Pérez Sendino, a lawyer who normally specialises in cases involving narcotics and narcotics trafficking.
Carcaño’s first lawyer lasted one month, withdrawing from the case after his client kept changing his story. The second lawyer only lasted one week, citing personal and professional reasons for declining to continue.
Meanwhile, the search for the body of Marta del Castillo was called off early today due to rain. The judge in the case has ordered a new round of statements in an attempt to determine the exact involvement of one of the accused, Samuel. Initially, he admitted to helping Carcaño dispose of the body, but since being in court has denied any involvement.
