A chiringuito (beach bar) owner in Estepona has been fined €240,000 by the Department of Coasts for invading the public domain by increasing its size from 100 square metres to 500 square metres.
In addition to being fined by the Department of Coasts, the owner has been instructed by the Council to demolish the extra buildings which were constructed without permission and invade the public domain. The owner has until May to comply with the demolition order or the Council will assume the resposnsibilty and arrange for demolition.
