Barcelona look to be on their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League after a clinical dissection of Bayern Munich, the final scoreline 4-0.
Two goals from Lionel Messi and one apiece from Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto’o have put Barcelona firmly in the driving seat for the second leg in Germany.
Chelsea also look to be on their way after a 1-3 victory at Anfield. Liverpool took an early lead, Torres scoring in the fifth minute and it wasn’t until the 38th minute that Branislav Ivanovic slotted home the equaliser. The first half ended 1-1, honours even.
A bright start to the second half from Liverpool but it was Chelsea who scored, Ivanovic getting his second goal of the night. More end to end action and then Didier Drogba slotted the ball past the keeper following a quick breakaway attack. And that’s how it finished, a very uphill task for Liverpool if they are to progress.
Chelsea’s John Terry picked up a second half booking and will miss the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
