A leading member of ETA, Ekaitz Sirvent Auzmendi, has been detained at Montparnasse station in Paris. He is the fifth member of ETA to be arrested in France this year.Ekaitz Sirvent Auzmendi, who is said to be one of the top five ETA leaders, has been on the wanted list since 2002. He is believed to be ETA’s top forger.
At the time of his arrest, he was carrying two sets of false id, Spanish and French, and was armed with a Magnum pistol. Police also confiscated his laptop computer and various data storage devices.
