A report based on visual observations by members of the criminology laboratory of the Guardia Civil in Granada states that the accident involving one of the ski lifts at the Sierra Nevada ski station was caused by three broken bolts on the clamping mechanism of the pulley arm.
Twenty-three people were injured when the Emille Allais lift plunged to the ground on March 2nd 2009. The report, stating that three of the four retaining bolts were defective, has been passed to the Magistrate’s Court Number Two, the body investigating the accident.
However, what is apparently not clear is why this particular report was actually made in the first place, as an expert report has already been commissioned from a specialist company.
