The Uralita tile factory in Alcalá de Guadaíra, Sevilla, has closed, affecting a total of nineteen employees. The company is set to close three more of its thirteen factories in Spain, namely in Alfaro (La Rioja), Monjos (Barcelona) and Zambrana (Alava).
Six of the workforce will qualify for an early retirement plan and for the rest, a compensation package has been agreed. The company blames the closure on the need to adapt its production capacity in the light of the current economic situation.
