The market continues to provoke debate, with no-one so far coming out in favour of the new site in Almijara except for the politicians, and they probably don’t frequent it, and it seems pretty evident from the comments here and on other sites that the whole business is having quite a negative impact on people’s perception of the town.
A shame. Several regular visitors are even contemplating a ‘change of scene’. In view of all this, it does seem a little strange that politicians come out with phrases like ‘…it has been shown that the government team was right, the Almijara site was ideal for the market’.
Has it shown that this decision was right? Or has it just endorsed the theory that if you put a gun to someone’s head, that person is quite likely to do whatever you suggest or come round to your point of view?
