A hat-trick from Raúl helped Real Madrid to close the gap on leaders Barcelona as they beat Sevilla 2-4.
Sevilla opened the scoring with a goal from Renato, but three goals from Raúl turned things around. His first goal came on the stroke of half-time, and then he followed this up with two goals in four minutes in the second half. It was Raúl’s sixth career hat-trick.
With ten minutes remaining, Diego Capel capitalised on a defensive error and pulled one back for the home side but Marcelo restored the gap with a goal in injury time. Real are now only four points behind Barcelona in La Liga. Next week sees the top two go head to head.
Villarreal overcame Getafe 2-1 in a match which saw both teams down to ten men. Capdevila and Llorente scored for Villarreal, Manu del Moral pulling one back for Getafe with a late penalty.
Nerja are now fourth in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 after a 1-0 win against Alhaurín Torre. Leaders Mancha Real were 2-0 victors over Torremolinos while second placed El Palo just managed to edge out Barrio NS Remedios, the score 9-3.
